Police search for missing bushwalkers, Mt Barney

POLICE, SES volunteers and National Park rangers are continuing to search for four missing bushwalkers who failed to return to their camp site last night.
A 47-year-old man and three teenage boys, two boys aged 13 and a 15-year-old, made contact with friends about 12.30pm yesterday at which time they indicated that they were near East Peak at Mt Barney and bad weather was approaching.
Police were notified about 9.30pm last night when the group failed to return to their camp site. They had set off from Yellow Pinch carpark at the base of Mt Barney about 8.30am yesterday.
The RACQ Careflight helicopter has been deployed in a bid to locate the four missing bushwalkers.
The four people are believed to be suitably attired for the weather conditions and are carrying some equipment.

Mt Barney bushwalkers located: Four bushwalkers have been found safe and well after being reported missing on Mt Barney. Police, SES volunteers and National Park rangers began a search for the 47-year-old man and three teenage boys, two boys aged 13 and a 15-year-old boy, who failed to return to their camp site last night. Police were notified about 9.30pm last night when the group failed to return to their camp site. The bushwalkers were located about 2pm only three kilometres from the entrance of the bushwalk track. The bushwalkers were not injured.
