Hiker rescued, Springbrook National Park

A 34-year-old man from Northern New South Wales has been rescued safe and well from Springbrook National Park this afternoon.
About 1pm the man appears to have become disoriented as he descended Mount Cougal within the Springbrook National Park.
The man used his mobile phone to contact police who deployed the RACQ CareFlight helicopter to assist in his rescue.
He was picked up by the RACQ CareFlight helicopter about 2.25pm safe and well. He has not sustained any injuries in the incident.
