Bushwalkers found safe and well, Paluma Range

Three men spent a night in the forest on the Paluma Range cold and wet however have been located safe and well this morning. The men had planned a short walk in the Paluma Range, about 24 kilometres south of Ingham. They have told police this morning that time had passed and they decided to stay together as they lost light. The men, who were wearing shorts and singlets and had gone swimming earlier in the day, had made their way to a rock ledge and were calling out throughout the night. Nearby residents had heard noises throughout the night and were able to spot them on a ledge this morning. They phoned police and their location was reported to a rescue helicopter. The helicopter crew was able to give verbal advice to the men to assist them making it back to a track where they were picked up by police this morning. The men were cold and hungry and have been provided food this morning before a precautionary check by ambulance. They are planning on continuing on with their travels this morning.
