Follow Kokoda 2008

In July, seven members from the Moonee Valley Police Service Area will lead a group of 16 disadvantaged youth from Flemington on the walk of a lifetime along the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.

The trip aims to re-engage the now disenfranchised youth in their community, and provide them with motivation to live the rest of their lives responsibly, and with purpose.

Victoria Police journalist Sarah Campbell is joining the team to watch this real-life story unfold.

She is taking take part in this extraordinary project to document and share the experience with the rest of the community.

The Kokoda 2008 journey began in May with 30 teenagers, five police, three teachers, one paramedic, and one police journalist walking the streets of Flemington.

At the end of June, team leaders will select 16 of the young people who will go on to walk the Kokoda Track in July.
